Truck accidents are surprisingly common. Unfortunately, less than one month after we posted our last blog on truck driver fatigue, we got news of a double fatality on I-295. The accident occurred at approximately 8:00pm in Prince George County, approximately 12 miles from our Petersburg office. The crash involved a collision between a Volvo and a tractor-trailer. As is often the case, the truck driver was not injured but two passengers in the Volvo lost their lives. The driver of the Volvo was transported to MCV with life threatening injuries.
Because we are located in Petersburg, which I-95 and I-85 pass through, and are just a few miles from I-295, we see more than our fair share of trucking accidents.
